I tried to ship three side projects on the current generation of AI builders. Each one ended the same way: the generated app worked in their preview, then fell apart the moment I asked the obvious question — where is the source code? Locked behind an export button. Or behind a Pro tier. Or behind a proprietary runtime that pretends to be a framework.

The pitch is always "ship faster." The reality is that you've traded one ceiling (your own coding speed) for another (whatever the platform decides you're allowed to do next week). For a marketing page, fine. For anything you intend to live with, that ceiling shows up fast.

OctopusLab exists because I wanted the prompt-to-app loop without the lock-in. You chat, the agent writes a real Next.js project, you push it to your GitHub, deploy it to your domain. The code is yours from minute one. If we go away tomorrow, your app keeps running. That's the contract.
