Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 8, 2026
OctopusLab uses cookies and similar storage technologies (such as localStorage and sessionStorage) to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. This page describes what we use and why.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. We treat browser storage that performs a comparable function (such as localStorage) the same way as cookies for the purposes of this Policy.
2. Categories We Use
2.1 Strictly Necessary
Required to provide the Service. Without these the Service does not work — for example you cannot stay signed in. We do not ask consent for strictly necessary cookies because they are exempt under applicable law (ePrivacy / TTDSG).
sb-access-token,sb-refresh-token— Supabase Auth session.NEXT_LOCALE— locale preference (set by next-intl).- CSRF protection tokens.
2.2 Functional
Remember choices you make to improve your experience.
- UI theme (dark / light).
- Last-visited project shortcuts.
2.3 Analytics
With your consent we use the analytics tools below to understand usage and improve the product. They load only after you accept analytics cookies and never set advertising identifiers.
- Vercel Analytics — anonymous page-view and Web Vitals metrics. Hashed daily, not linked to your account.
- Microsoft Clarity — aggregated heatmaps and session replay used to diagnose usability issues. Clarity masks text input by default; we use it to improve the interface, not to identify individuals.
2.4 Marketing
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. We do not run retargeting campaigns.
3. Managing Cookies
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies via their settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and other core features.
If you are located in a jurisdiction requiring opt-in for non-essential cookies (EEA, UK, Switzerland), we display a consent banner on first visit. You can change your choice any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.
4. Do Not Track
We honor the “Do Not Track” signal where the browser supports it: when set, we do not load analytics cookies.
5. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy as we add or remove tracking technologies. Material changes will be communicated in the same way as the Privacy Policy.
